@TastyGM Oh wow it wasn't here the last time I checked, though that was some time ago. I see it's updated to 2.0 also. Thank you so much for this consideration! It runs at a third the GPU usage and a buttery-smooth 60fps everywhere.

RE: This game is utterly Unenjoyable.
@Cheeseberry That you wilfully decided to separate this part of my statement from the rest of the consequences I stated result from this - which ultimately condemn the idea - and making it seem as if I agree with you speaks about bad-faith, low-quality debating more than any wall of text I could write, wouldn't you say?
Administration should understand how these types of interactions work and what they ultimately lead to and display competence in handling them. Some level of irreverence and insulting is normal, but there are forms of it which assemble into organized hate - and they do it precisely because the plausible deniability allows them to grow. Nobody should be arguing about what somebody meant or didn't when they say something inoccuous like "retard", but "I enjoy killing gay people"?! Come on.

Is DXVK allowed?
DXVK is a wrapper that makes DX titles run in Vulkan instead. It is popular with many games and also usable on a few MMOs. The advantages of running DX9 through Vulkan should be obvious since the API is old and doesn't take advantage of modern multithreaded rendering and other optimizations present in VK. Case in point, running an RTX 3070 I still cannot get over 45 fps in SW during rush hour.
My concern is DXVK being picked up as unofficial game modification / cheating. Because if there isn't any problem with it then I will happily switch over.
To be clear, I am asking about DXVK on Windows.

RE: This game is utterly Unenjoyable.
@Cheeseberry
When you have a close group of people you know, cracking all kinds of jokes including the worst and most shocking ones works because you all know what you do and don't mean. When this happens in a public place where all people are strangers, you have no way of telling those who are doing it for the lulz apart from those who actually believe these things. For this reason public spaces where hateful jokes are allowed begin to attract the hateful people who otherwise can't find a home anywhere else because their hate is rightfully condemned.
And you can't tell when someone is telling the joke because it's shocking or because they're making fun of the people who believe these things, or whether the punchline is actually the bigoted statement within.
The statements go past simple "cringy but ultimately free speech" when they advocate and glorify violence against other members who are actively participating in the otherwise democratic act of having everyone speak their mind: the bigoted people are now actively discouraging the existence/participation of others in this equality by hurling violence their way.
Eventually people being bothered by these attacks begin to leave and in their place join more and more haters. And it becomes a breeding ground for those seeking to radicalize to start meeting normal people with lies and caricatures that turn them against minorities whereas there are none left speaking out against them.
So this kind of behavior is different from the usual "guerilla" gamer toxicity in that it organizes into a force that actively promotes cruel individuals.
If you are truly concerned about free speech then you should be concerned about the attacks against minorities that stifle their public participation. We have one minority trying to push all the others out. You can tell who the aggressor is because they're the ones on the offense with this kind of behavior.
And quite frankly, what all is there here that is that controversial? This stuff doesn't fly in a lot of online spaces. Rules against hate aren't controversial. What's your number? A caricaturizing joke? A well wish for the death of a group? An active call to exterminate a group? There eventually comes a point.
Your stance is naive capitalism where everyone is allowed to do everything without limits for the sake of freedom, including attacking others - because "the free market will sort itself out". The only result of such an arrangement is groups of bullies who gang up and start actively terrorizing everyone else.

RE: Entire equipped gear is gone after selecting preset.
@TastyGM No, I had only two sets "Default" containing my active gear which I had on me at the time and "Naked" which had no items at all. None of my equipment was in the bank, though enlighten me: is there a feature on Ascension where you can save sets in the bank and equip them on demand?
-
RE: Entire equipped gear is gone after selecting preset.
@TastyGM Right so, I'm not gonna pretend I understand what happened because I don't. I found my old gear in the bank now and all is well thank gods. The issue is resolved. What causes this and how do I avoid it in the future? Thank you.
-
Entire equipped gear is gone after selecting preset.
Character: Asali, Realm: Area 52
Not in the bank. Not in the mail. Not found at Ameer's. Not in the vendor buyback. Not in the bags. Not after relog. Not after cache clearing. They are simply gone.
I selected my Naked character preset and after removal they basically vanished. This occurred around 20 minutes prior to the creation of this post, respectively a short while after relogging after the latest server restart.
If you can check the database backup prior to the restart or maybe with the IDs saved in my other gear preset - Default - you'll see what I had.
This was NOT a result of the realm restart but rather of selecting the preset that had no gear equipped.
Also a word of warning to anyone who has such a preset?
The preset selection is what did it. Prior to the restart and to this loss I took a piece off and put it back on from the bags to reapply a talent-altering enchant and all was fine, item was preserved in the bag and reapplied when I re-equipped.
Please help? I'm pretty screwed now.
Update: I have 100% repro on this!
I can confirm that my current Naked preset did that not only one time, but will in fact do this with ANY piece of gear I equip! Upon pressing the button for the preset, any piece of gear will just straight up be deleted. I checked live with my bags open and the free bag space count on screen and it was just vanished out of existence.
I am going to preserve my Naked preset profile for anyone who wants to debug this as I wait for a response since whatever gear IDs it ties to(should all be empty slots) it just straight up overwrites the gear with empty slots. Please investigate my gear preset.
