@HurtBrick Are you giving the game time to launch after the installation/update finishes? I had this problem some time ago, I would tell the launcher to update and then the button would change to "play" as soon as the update finished. I'd click the button and I would get that error because I didn't realize the launcher automatically starts opening Ascension when it finishes updating.
I realize it's a pretty dumb user error, but if I made that mistake, I'm sure somebody else has, to.
