We have a lot of custom content in Ascension. We have dodge and parry gems for bear/parry tanks with dodge and parry tanks being able to get to 80% chance in their respective mitigation chances but there are no gems for shield tanks- being forced to go into hybrid setups since there are no other options. I'm not sure if this needs to be reworked from a shield talent to shift strength into block rating instead of parry or if this has to be a RE but in the meantime this would be an easy fix to help out the shield tanks-

Adding a block rating gem would give a lot of gameplay value to shield tanks. A+8 block rating gem would exceed the % mitigation chance of a +8dodge or +8parry gem so perhaps add a hybrid red gem such as +5 block rating with +5 block value? I'm not sure where you'd be able to add this into the game as far as a recipe drop but either way this would give a lot of relief to shield tanks who are being railroaded into choosing dodge or parry gems that don't flow well with their talent setups.

        With regards to block value:

Half our Strength is already applied to our block value, and since we're "druids" the attributes submenu of the character panel doesn't mention it in the ingame ui.

So if you want to improve your block value, you could gem strength.

Something of note that's an advantage on that is that %modifiers like blessing of kings and the talents that do so would impact the strength you get from gems and in turn impact the block value you get per gem. Which is something that straight dodge/parry gems can't benefit from.
