@ody Well that means the game can't read the file. I think this can also be caused by running windows 11 which has some issues with our .dll files.
What happens if you check your game directory -> extensions. Is there a file inside? If not, your antivirus keeps deleting it.
@TastyGM yes the file there in the extensions directory and am running windows 8.1
@ody Might be caused by windows to be fair. Windows 8 is not officially supported unfortunately
@TastyGM i was able to fix it thank you
@ody What was the fix if you dont mind sharing? Just so we know where to look with windows 8 in the future.
I'm having the same problem.
The file is there.
Repair did not help.
I also checked permissions, reinstalling .NET, and tried compatibility modes
Just had a ticket reply. Apparently the game only works in win 10. not in win 11 and not in 8.
Good to know, but it would be cool if that info was somewhere for people to find..
@TastyGM - hi I'm having some crazy issues with latency/lag lately, making even Bg's unplayable. I've also recently had my windows 11 upgrade so after reading above I'm wondering if this may be contributing to the problem. I have the game running on compatibility made etc but the problem has been bad the last few days.
@Shadowfang23 Yes, currently Windows 11 is unsupported as well since it cant read our .dll files.
Unfortunately W11 still has quite a long way ahead of it before it releases.
The only way to play currently would be to downgrade to W10 unfortunately
