I have absolutely no idea what they're thinking.
Already a no creativity pvp environment. It's literally 95% hunter builds frost bolt builds or lightning bolt. Melee was barely viable. Now charge and intercept share a CD? Melee is literally unplayable in PvP now. Absolutely murdered any form of melee in PvP.
It was like that for the entirety of Mal'ganis and it was fine really. Just takes getting used to.
So you're saying that the deminishing return on stuns/fears are fair, compared to the lack of gap-closing abilities that melee has?
One of the top tier ranged builds right now, has 2 damage abilities, rest is CC; stun, fear, root, slow etc. and defensives; bubble, ghost wolf, ice block, greater heal etc.
Right now, you can find very badly geared ranged people, nuking the sh** out of better geared melee...
They could remove the timer on stealth, that would bring the games further and add to dmg taken / healing reduced.
But ill gladly listen to any suggestions you have, on how to even the odds, couse right now, im close to dropping melee for the rest of the season.

I think something I'm not considering is that on Area 52 people can get more defenses than they could on Mal'ganis because of the different free pick systems. Mal had the rarity free pick which meant you could find out what folks had if you watched their abilities since there were so few epic and legendary slots. I haven't gotten the gear to pvp on Area52 end game yet, but when I do I'll post here again with thoughts, you both might very well be right, just that my experience with the specific gap closer stuff wasn't terrible to navigate on Mal
@Rubis I would love for them to bring ability rarity to A52. Would even it out a bit. Not perfect with this huge melee nerf but it'd be a huge start.
