On some installations there can be a problem with sound in WoW, regardless of it being a Ascension client or otherwise. This happens on distro's where the 32bit libraries of alsa/pulse are not properly installed.

      Test the problem:
Open the launcher and play the youtube video which is promoted, sound should play. Start the game, no sound should play and no audio devices should be visible other then "default".

      Fix the problem:
Open a Terminal and input the following command.

      • Arch/Manjaro
      sudo pacman -S lib32-alsa-plugins lib32-libpulse lib32-openal

      • Ubuntu/Debian
      sudo apt install wine32

      • CentOS
Not tested as of yet // No error found

If you are using pulseaudio and not alsa, you can add the package pavucontrol to the installation, this gives a graphical interface which displays all sound sources on the system. This also installs any missing dependencies you might have from the 32bit library.

      FOSS or GTFO
