Looking for some input or help with latency. Irrespective of which server I log into, and even if I try a VPN switching to a few different locations between the US and EU, I cannot get my latency below 120-150ms.

At that latency the game really isn't optimally playable. I tried using Mullvad for reference.

On reddit I saw some posts that people on the US east coast had latency as low as 60ms. I have the highest rated speed on cable net for my area in New England.

Hi! I can't say that I have too much data regarding the average ping of US east cost players to our servers (located in Europe) but in general when connecting from US to EU and vice versa in my personal experience using other services 130-150ms is usually the average.

60ms sounds incredibly low and makes me wonder if they are checking their VPNs latency to our servers as opposed to their computer -> their vpn -> our server.

If they for example bought a VPN located in the same data-center as our services are, their ping might be as low as 5ms, without accounting for them having a latency of 120ms to send data to the VPN which then itself would have just 5ms to pass that over to the server.

It is very infrequent for me to use a VPN nowadays so I am uncertain if modern VPNs show latency following the entire chain of your computer to the VPN to the server, but I know that several years ago they used to only show latency from the VPN to to the server which would provide false information on the actual latency.

The same way that sending a physical package from the US to, let's say Germany in 7 days. And then shipping that package from Germany to France in just 2 days and claim that the delivery only took 2 days when it in fact took 9.

I've tried both with and without the VPN and also cleared cache. On discord someone suggested reinstalling but there are two of us in my household having the same problem with massive delays in combat. This makes the game more or less unplayable unfortunately since you can't properly keep track of battle or attack flow.
