Help with Linux Ubuntu fresh install client crash & error2
New to Ascension, created account and proceeded with install guide from the link below. I finished installing the game through the launcher but the client crashes at character selection screen.
I followed the instructions from here https://ascension.gg/download/unix
I did all steps except #4.
I think I saw several "error" and "failed" to's in the terminal from either step 1, 2 or 3 or all, but too fast for me to read, the process continued anyways.
At step #5 it said no such file or directory existed even though it is inside Downloads. I proceed to manually run the Launcher file from downloads and the launcher runs. I download the full game client, etc.
Found from another forum post answer here to remove/rename file called DivxTac.dll, that fixes the crash, but then logging into the game world I cannot move my character. Can do other things though such as type in chat, select menus, options, click spell etc. Also, the client becomes out of date, error2 (yellow system message from in-game chat box), most likely due to removing/renaming DivxTac.dll, placing that file back restores the crash problem.
What can I do to fix this issue and play? Did I do something wrong or are the instructions or something else possibly outdated?
For reference: I first installed Retail WoW around a week ago through Lutris and it works (Lutris>Battlenet>Game) note:retail client does not detect my dGPU only integrated, I don't play it for that reason.
Now I play Turtle WoW through PlayOnLinux, simply downloaded the game files and ran it all through PlayOnLinux note: after creating a desktop shortcut I right click and run using dedicated graphics card (dGPU)
Figured this info might be of some use I don't know.
