@TastyGM Its okay, thank you for taking the time to help me with this issue. I did find a 'some-what' solution that allowed me to play. I could not figure out how to white list all the files, but I did discover I can temporarily shut off the "real-time scan" so I can open the launcher and download the update.
the steps:
Open McAfee
click on My Protection
click on Real-Time Scanning
click on Shut off
an option pops up that will let you shut off the real time scanning for either 15 mins, 30 mins, or 45 mins. After that, the game opened up perfectly fine. Discovering how easy this was, I am much more comfortable with shutting the virus protection off - knowing it will turn itself back on in a short time. Hope this information can help someone else who uses McAfee! Thank you again for your help TastyGM, I appreciate the time and effort you put in.
