Pets, can we get some more info?
Can we get some basic info about Undead, Demon, Dragonkin pets as well as Hunter's Beast pets, Warlock Summoned Demons and Frost Elemental?
Mainly with which player stat they scale. On wotlk Hunter's Beasts were stacked with Ranged Attack Power and Summoned demons with spell damage. Is this still truth on this server?
And Demons, Undeads, Dragonkins? Do they stack with spell damage or attack power or whichever stat is highest or those stats combined? And if the pet is caster, do spells scale with spell power and abilities with attack power? Or only melee attacks scale and spells and abilitites not.
What I have found so far is that the healing abilities of green dragons do not scale with healing power at all or the scaling is very low. Also numbers on pet sheets are kinda weird sometimes they are lower even when i equip item with better stats.
So I decided to create some list of Tameable ( Dragonkin / Undead / Demon ) pets with their spells.
The interface (you can show it with
/zooslash command) is kinda ugly, needs some tweaks and does not contain all pets yet but it should have all undeads from undead starting location and duskwood and most low level dragonkins.
The problem is there are far too many pets to scan.
As of 16.06.2022 the list contains 129 entries.
So I am looking for Demon Hunters, Dragon Hunters and Undead Hunters to help me expanding this list.
If you have the ability to tame dragon/demon/undead pet and you download this addon, you will start seeing tooltips like these:
for known pets. It lets you know that NPC is tameable and already on the list of scanned mobs.
Long story short:
- If you do not want to help expanding list and just want to see whether NPC is tameable, just download and install addon.
- If you want to help me expanding list of NPCs, download and install addon and start catching pokemons. Err.. dragons or undeads or demons. Whenever you catch some new, it is automatically added to pokedex.. i mean addon DB and you can see it on the list as well as on the tooltip. You can then share your findings with me, sending me a file located in <Wow Folder>/WTF/Account/<Your Account>/SavedVariables/ named AscensionZoo.lua.
Also not all NPCs are tameable which is always an unexpected surprise (mainly when you abandon your previous pet to tame the new one). So I added function to mark NPC as not tameable, you can do it by typing
/muin the chat while you are targetting npc.
The npc is saved to another db and whenever you mouseover that npc in the future, it will say "Marked Untameable" in red.
I added this feature just recently so when i was in the undead zones and met some untameable undead, i did not add them to the list.
Also typing /mu while targetting npc already added to the db, it will remove it from the db.
Last thing, a link to music to listen until we catch them all:

@Arkoniel That's pretty amazing work! Did you share it in the addons discord? Opening a separate chat channel for this addon will make it far easier to share the pokedex data with you.
Btw, is it not possible to code in a way to share and sync pokedex data with other people ingame? Kinda like how gatherer works with its gather node data? This would make it even easier, because it will allow people to just send it to you when you're online ingame. Ofcourse code in a confirmation window so people don't abuse it or send malicious data or something.
@Vulpinenin Nope, which addon discord? Ascension?
And it would probably be possible to share it with other people in-game but it still a lot of work so maybe in the future (and if more ppl use it).

@Arkoniel There is a specific discord for ascension addons. Contact the admin and they can open your own chat channel where you can keep your addon up to date and have users give you feedback. With how useful your addon is, I see a TON of people using it, maybe it can even be added to the launcher!
Here is an invite that should (hopefully) not expire:
This guy has been uploading pet-specific info videos to YouTube. The production quality on his videos are low, but the amount of information he discusses about pets is quite high-
