Why do you feel the need to make people download 14 gb every other day?

Its getting kind of old in all honesty ive used more data in one week than I have in 5 years

Same thing here. Started up the launcher today, and seeing that I have to yet again download 13gb on a restricted data plan, made me quit all together.
Can anyone explain why we have to download gigs of data every time we try to log in? -
I don't think it's "Redownloading" I believe it's verifying the 14gbs. I could be wrong.

@TeaEarlGreyHot That would indeed be correct. Verification takes like a minute. The launcher then proceeds to patch a very minor portion of it.

I can make the difference between verifying and downloading, and it's definitely downloading. After all - we do this every other day
I can share a scnrshot, but it breaks while uploading here ^^

@kikeru It is downloading something alright, but those are hashes and checksums, a very small amount of data compared to the actual datafiles. You are likely downloading less than 400mb per patch because of how this system works.
Trust me: The owner of the server doesn't want to pay for 30.000x 14gb download each time they patch, it's financial suicide lol.

I have the same issue.., i've had to download those 14gb four days in a row... and i have a bad internet so it takes me about 8+ hours... so if there isn't a solution to this, i'm not able to play it...

@Lanore this is why I just stopped using the launcher and just open the client directly most days. About once a week I open the launcher to see if there's an update, or if someone tells me that there was one.

I just opened the launcher to find the second multi gig "update" waiting today! Not verification.
This is verification.
It's 14gb of downloading. Twice in one day. WTF?

11GB download again today. there goes most of my short amount of playtime for today -
@stickemate Most people on the planet have fast internet. Its speed is getting increased by default every few months if you have contract with the provider.
You cant blame Ascension team for downloads , its custom client anyway,and it has multiple realms (versions) Vanilla,TBC,WOTLK PTR...all of that requires constant updates.
