Old macbook with 10.7.5 M Lion as latest os. No wine, no playonmac, no parallels etc.

So, i downloaded the client, patches and even found a wotlk intel binary app that works on default run. But when i add the Ascension patch, i get a "Your login interface files are corrupt. Reinstall the game. " error.

Using the ancient art of guessing, i initially presumed that the app can't use Ascension.exe, but then i considered that perhaps it cannot read the extra .dlls?

Can anyone here say if it's either of these options? And if so, might there be a way to persuade the app to make use of the extra tidbits in the same way it was made to run the default game?
