Hi, about aggro, and holding it. If I judged a boss with light, meaning that everyone hitting it could get healed for x amount. Will that count as me healing? Giving me extra aggro?

Also, seeing as healing accumulates lots of aggro, could I pull a pack of mobs, Line of sight them and just spamheal behind a column to build aggro? With Righteous Fury active, would it be enough to out aggro those trigger happy dps who can never wait even 3 sec ^^

Hey there! If you judge a target and someone hits the target they are the one that gains the threat for the judged ability. It won't count as your agro unfortunately.

Here are your best options: Consecrate, Thunderclap and Swipe, all based on what kind of tank you are. If you take Emanating Light you can have Consecrate follow you, which really helps quite a lot. There's also all kinds of Thunder enchantments to improve Thunderclap, based on how much you want to spend. Holy Guardian might help you with the 'gaining agro from healing' possibility as well. And swipe is just pure awesome, especially with Anger Management. Mix that with Carnage Incarnate and add a 'bear rend' between your swipes to keep things going.

But here's a better possibility based on what you are talking about: find another way of dealing persistent damage. For example: you could always take Divine Storm and Art of War, using it to blast targets or heal yourself for more agro. Or you could take Corruption and Sinister Strike and finally Pestilence. This lets you spread Corruption to everything within 10 feet of you with a single spell and a single melee strike. Then take Seed of Corruption and Nightfall and start throwing around free explosions of shadow energy. I'm running a tank based on this idea and it is a lot of fun as long as I manage my mana correctly.

@Emalia Thank you for your wisdom. Greatly appreciated.

Do you have trouble building aggro fast enough with the DoT build? Sounds like a blast to play!

@Wucadlak The only time I have trouble with agro is when I establish and then try to line of sight something so I can gather. A lot of the time I'll find someone with either chain lightning or multishot or something like it who will run past me, claiming targets. They then walk into my swipe zone, thinking that will let me pick them up. But if they are a caster they will stop moving the moment they reestablish LoS on the DPSer who does this. I can either charge them, fairy fire them or run up and hit them. That last one is the most risky since it inevitably gives someone (or six) a shot at my back, so I pop Savage Defenses or Evasion before doing it.
If you do this and find you have agro problems there is a blue enchant that grants 8% swipe damage as well as an epic that turns your swipe into a vicious dot every 10 seconds. I've tried both and run with 2 of the swipe damage booster, but I'll trade them out when I find gear worth spending points on. As long as you have Anger Management at full you'll start encounters with rage to burn and spamming just swipe won't run you out of rage for a WHILE. Add 'bear rend' and Maul and you'll start dipping down to 40 or 20 rage, but still manageable. It's a lot of fun.

@Wucadlak ...and I just realized that you meant the Corruption / SS build as the dot build. If you take the epic enchant that lets consecrate move with you as well as the three talents that boosts consecrate's threat then no, that alone will hold targets while you establish. If someone really alpha strikes a target they can strip it, but add thunderclap and the matter is settled. You can also take the three point talent to let your judgement AoE strike.
The problem with the dot build is mana, but I've found a way to manage that. Take the two talents to boost your energy, and whenever you sinister strike to spread corruption do it twice. Then use Meditate. It's a rogue finisher that regenerates your mana based on combo points spent. Get a few other rogue talents and suddenly you've got a good chance for two strikes to be 4 or 5 points on it. 3 points is over 50% base mana recovered over 18 seconds. Take that and the replenishment talent for your judgement (20% base mana return right now, replenishment return) and then any other mana regen (Blessing of Wisdom, Mage Armor, totem, something) and you've got a self sustaining mana machine. Out of my three tanks it's probably my second favorite (favorite being a prot warrior / enhancement shammie hybrid - instant chain lightning and thunderclap / shockwave making me giggle).
