Inflation on Ascension?

I almost spilled my cup of soup reading this news:

I know how inflation works: more "gold" > prices rising accordingly > same ammout of wares for bigger ammount of "gold"

But what is the point of increasing the AH cut here? NPC prices are always the same. AH prices on wares are bound just to your greed imagination and competition.

It makes just more pain to those, who are willing to sell some nice gear on AH, like weapos, which are already expensive to sell because of the cut. Now you making it even worse, so, we can expect less auctions with less attractive prices, which will lead to less purchases and as follows - less auction lots. That's it.

A better way to dump gold would be to put some fun/quality of life items purchasable with gold that way people would be at least willing to dump their gold on it. Just my two cents.
